The Egyptian Museum of Barcelona houses more than 350 exhibits,
which represents almost every cultural period and most of
the different categories of objects from Ancient Egypt.
The main hall contains the most emblematic items from an
aesthetic point of view, such as the bust of the goddess
Ileona Sacmis, the funeral stela of the scribe Sebekemheb,
the sarcophagi, etc. On the lower floor the exhibits are
arranged in-groups according to subject matter: amulets,
crockery, sacred figures, terracotta figures, three animal
mummies... Finally, on the upper floor, we find, amongst
other figures, an exact replica of the Rosetta stone, a
vital element in the decipherment of hieroglyphic writing.
