Religion
The three main Christian denominations are Baptist, Anglican and
Roman Catholic.
Language. The official language of the Bahamas is English.
A dialect form of English, interspersed with Indian and African
words, is widely used in informal conversations.
People: About 83 per cent of the population are black and
of African origin. About 15 per cent are white (including British,
Americans, and Canadians), and 2 per cent belong to other ethnic
groups.
