People
Most Antiguans are descendants of African slaves who were brought
to the island to work on the sugarcane plantations. The rest of
the population comprise of North Americans, Europeans, Syrians Portuguese
and Lebanese.
Language
English is the official language but the locals also have their
own dialects.
Religion
Christianity, with a multitude of denominations, is the main religion.
There's also a small of worshippers of the late emperor Haile Selassie
of Ethiopia.
