A ceremony to honor the Great Scholar Wang-In;yellow clay pottery making and sales; yellow clay pottary exhibition; performance by Korean traditional music orchestra; international symposium on pottery.

 

Kyongju Cherry Blossom Fun Run
Kyongju, Kyongsangbuk-do, 10th April, 2000
Four races of five and ten kilometers and half and full marathons.

 

Chindo Yongdeung Festival(Moses' Miracle)
Chindo-gun, Chollanam-do, 16th - 18th April 2000
Various folklore events are held during the time of the "parting of the ses", an unusual natural phenomenon occuring annually when an extremely low tide allows one to walk across a land bridge between Chindo and Modo Islands.

 

Ch'ungju Martial Arts Festivals

Sales of everyday-use ceramics; open contest and exhibition of everyday-use ceramics; "I made it" Ceramic Corner; sales of local special products, etc.

 

Mosi(Ramie Fabric) Cultural Festival
Soch'on-gun, Ch'ungch'ongnam-do, 1st - 6th May, 2000
Trade show for ramie clothes, fahion shows, events for hands-on experience(cutting and tearing the ramie plant, twisting and linking torn ramie in the palms, making the linking parts glassy by applying liquid with bean powder and dissolved salt, and weaving).

 

Ch'unhyang Festival
Namwon,Chollabuk-do, 4th - 7th May, 2000
Traditional wooden arts and crafts festival, Musical Lady Ch'un-hyang, traditional Korean music scenes from the story of Ch'unyang, etc.

 

Children's Day
May 5th, 2000
On this day, parents dress up the little ones and take them to children's parks, amusement parks, zoos, or to the cinema for a full day of fun and games.
