People
Papua New Guinea has a total population of almost 4 million, comprised
mainly of Melanesian race with dark skin, fuzzy hair and friendly
smiles.
Language
The three most widely used languages are English, and mostly conversational
Pidgin and Motu. However it is estimated that over 800 languages
are spoken a day throughout the country, which represents a third
of all the languages in the world.
Religion
44 percent Protestant; 22 percent Roman Catholic; 34 percent indigenous
beliefs.
