People
St.Lucia is a small volcanic island-country in the eastern Caribbean.
Most people are descended from Africa's slave, brought by British
and French settlers, to work on their huge banana plantations.
Britain took control over St. Lucia in 1814, after 200 years of
struggle against the French and native Carib people. St.Lucia gradually
became more independent during the year 1900s and fully independent
in 1979.
Language
The main language in Saint Lucia is English. A French-based Creole
(Kwéyòl) is also spoken, due to the island's early French influence.
Religion
Consist mainly of 78% Roman Catholic, also Anglican, Methodist,
Seventh Day Adventist and Baptist.
