This five-week summer celebration, is Barbados' most popular
and colorful festival, which includes craft exhibitions, fine
art exhibitions, folk concerts, Calypso competitions, and
the Grand Kadooment!

Banks Hockey Festival
22 - 28 August 2000
The Banks International Hockey Festival attracts team from
across the globe - Barbados, the Caribbean, Europe, Britain,
South America, the United States and Abu Dhabi.
The festival, described as the biggest single annual field
hockey tournament in the hemisphere, is divided into men's,
women's, veterans and mixed-team divisions.
The astroturf at the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex provides
a world-class surface on which the tournament will be played.
This new surface will attract more international team and
ensures that the Banks Hockey Festival will continue to be
eagerly awaited by the international hockey fraternity.

Sun, Sea & Slams Barbados Bridge Tournament
October 15 - 24, 2000
Participants from around the world gather here, at Sun, Sea
& Slams 1999 - the 10th Annual Bridge Holiday in Barbados
for a great competition. The event provides a unique opportunity
to enjoy competitive bridge while relaxing in a pleasant,
tropical environment.
Accra Beach Hotel & Resort, a lovely beachfront hotel,
serves as the venue for the Sun, Sea & Slams.

National Independence Festival of Creative Arts

This festival encourages Barbadians of all ages to match their
talents in the fields of music, singing, dance, drama and
writing. The festival runs throughout the month of November
and culminates with a gala presentation in which the finalists
are featured.
