The ultimate island of Bali is part of the Republic of Indonesia
and is located south of the equator between Java in the
West, Lombok and the rest of the Lesser Sunda Islands in
the East. It is globally known as the most pretigious and
perfect paradise resort.
You'll enjoy beautiful views of picturesque rice terraces,
and large plantations growing vanilla, chocolate, coffee,
cloves, and even wine grapes in Bali's North coast.
Visit the royal Taman Ayun temple in Mengwi (built in 1624),
the holy monkey forest near Sangeh and famous Tanah Lot.
This picturesque temple was built in the 16th century on
a huge rock 100 yards off Bali's West coast and is surrounded
by the sea during high tides. Bali's most holy- "Mother
Temple" in Besakih is also worth a visit. It was build in
the 11th century in an altitude of 1,000 meters (3,000 feet)
on the slopes of Mount Agung.
To captivate a moment of art and history, don't miss the
Neka Museum in Campuhan, the Agung Rai Gallery in Peliatan
and the Agung Rai Museum in Pengosekan to see the difference
between creative art and more commercial products. Also,
as Bali renowned as a culture region it is decorated by
many fantastic culture events. Even more, Bali's local dancers
will perform a cultural show before visitors. These dances
are truly amazing and interestingly catchy.
Stop by the Handicraft Villages & Ubud and visit the
artisan villages of Batubulan for stone carving; there is
always something for everyone of its wonderful visitors.
A visit to Bali is not complete without a taste of its
superbly Balinese food, which is very spicy and peppery.
Don't worry, if you don't like hot and spicy as there is
an international fares for everyone to enjoy.
Getting There and Moving Around
By air
The Denpasar airport of Bali is large, well-organized,
and modern. It has international and domestic flights that
consists of inbound and outbound flights daily to Sumatera
and Java and other cities: Kuta, Legian, Sanur and Nusa
Dua, and Ubud.
By road
There are night buses from Java to Bali. If heading for
Java or any other cities, take a taxi or bemo to Denpasar's
Ubung station, which has many bus company offices you can
select from.
If you want more flexibility to move around Bali, car rentals
are available.
Moving Around
The availability of various land transportations in Bali
is a convenience of the visitors to move around the captivating
city.
