population includes those of African, European and Chinese descent.
The mixed-race group, the Crιoles, makes up a quarter of the population.
Language
English is the official language, but almost everyone speak and
read French, as well as the local dialect, Creole. Most Mauritians
also speak their native language such as Bhojpuri (a sort of Creole
Hindi), Chinese and Urdu.

With their origins rooted in three continents, it is not surprising
that Mauritians celebrate a variety of religious festivals. Festivals
