Established in 1978 in the Kwale district on the south
coast , 90km from Mombasa, 8km from Shimoni, next to Wasini.
28 square km of parkland, and 1 1 square km of marine park.Special
Features are the colourful coral gardens in East Africa.
The nearby Pemba Channel fishing grounds are world-famous
for marlin, tuna, and sailfish. Colourful coral fish, dolphin,
mackerel and bonito are common. Marine and land birds, such
as fish eagle, alba tross, gulls, herons, storks and ibis.
Historic caves used by slave traders are easily accessible.
Access to this park is from Shimoni there is a road of
15km; also shows and motorised boats to Kisite leave daily
from the Shimoni jetty.
