San Pedro Carnival
Ambergris Caye,
The carnical slowly evolves from slapstick fun using powder,
flour, lipstick and paint to tease people to a more traditional
Mestizo carnival that is made up of competing 'comparsas'.

Fiesta de Carnaval
This is an exciting yearly event celebrated nationwide which
brings back traditions. Groups compete in 'comparsas' (special
dances). It is usually held one week before Lent.

Holy Saturday Cross Country Classic
The Cross Country begins with the bicycle race in Belize City,then
continues on Western Highway and San Ignacio's park and finally
ends with a dramatic finale in Belize City.

Dia de San Pedro
A three-day festival honoring St. Peter, the patron saint
of San Pedro. There's an early morning boat parade where boats
and fishermen are blessed. This is a special mass and there
is also a fiesta/jump-up activity that follows after the event.

Independence Day
Numerous cultural, religious and sporting activities held
a few weeks before St. George's Caye Day. It compromises of
flag-raising ceremony, parades, street jump-ups, music, dance
and foods. The crowning of Miss San Pedro is also made on
this eventful day.
