Built in the later periods of the Northern
Wei Dynasty and located in the canyon at the foot of the
Hengshan Mountain, the Temple hung in midair is a rare piece
of architecture of its kind. Built on mechanical principles,
it stands propped up by hidden rocks and is based on flying
beams, with pillars and beams in one integrated whole and
corridor balustrades well connected together. It is a mystery
that the statues of the founders of Buddhism, Taoism and
Confucianism are placed under one and the same roof in the
Triple-Religion Hall on the top floor of the building.
