One of the largest and the most impressive
Buddhist temple in southeast China, the 1,600 year old temple
is also known as the "Temple of the Soul's Retreat". It
consists of two parts, namely the Great Buddha Hall and
the Heavenly King Hall. Inside the former, is a huge statue
of Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism. With a total of 150
images in different poses, they tell the Buddhist story
of how Red Child is accepted by the Goddess of Mercy as
her trusted disciple.
