This is a place for paying respects to Confucius
in the successive dynasties. It is one of the three oldest
and grandest groups of ancient architecture in China. First
built 200 years earlier than the Great Wall, it is the largest
construction in the world to commemorate the celebrated
personage of history and culture. Following the Imperial
Palace System, the sublime Confucius Temple is divided into
nine courtyards, surrounded by red walls, covered with yellow
tiles and shaded by ancient trees towering the skies. The
temple has some of the most magnificent halls with traditional
architectural styles and ancient art sculptures.
