Shexian County, one of the famous historical
and cultural sites in China, boasts of 385 well-preserved
ancient buildings, and the Chongyue Group Archways is one
of them. The county's ancient memorial archways, residential
houses and shrines are the "three extremities" in the Ming
and Qing traditional architectural styles. Some of the other
famous historical sites include the pagoda at the Changqing
Temple and the Southern and Eastern Watchtower.
