The administration style in Egypt is that of a presidential republic.
The president is the head of state and has executive power.
The president is elected by popular referendum to a six-year term.
The head of the government is the prime minister, who is appointed
by the president.
The legislature is unicameral and made up of the Majilis ash-Sha'ab
(People's Assembly), with 454 members.
