The Gonfalon

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"It was confirmed by the village council decision at January, 28, 1998. A square panel, on a green background is a yellow 6-beam star, on the sides of it are two yellow 6-beam stars of the smaller size. Under them is a white half moon, above them is yellow jail; from a staff and from free edge the flag has yellow platbands (width in 1/5 sides of a flag). The authors are A.Grechylo, Yu.Terlets'kyi.

"It was confirmed by the village council decision at January, 28, 1998. In a vert field a or 6-beam star, on the sides of it are two or 6-beam stars of the smaller size, under them a argent half moon horns upwards, above them is an or half ring with the aggravated ledge. The authors are A.Grechylo, Yu.Terlets'kyi. The arms is reconstructed on city is familiar XVI century. In its basis is modification of the arms of princes Ostroz'kyi.

The Village

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"The first annalistic mentions about Stepan' as the centre of a specific princedom of Ivan Glebovych are known from the end of XIII century. Great Lithuanian prince Olexander at May, 2, 1499 has given the privilege on realization in a small town of annual fair. King Syhyzmund in 1510 confirmed two more fairs, and 1511 gave "castle Stepan' with city" to prince Kostyantyn Ivanovych Ostroz'kyi. After 1620 the city carries over princes Zaslavs'ky. On a city stamps in documents XVIII century presents modification of the arms of princes Ostroz'kyi, and legend represented submits as well date of manufacturing of a stamp, is plausible - "1596".
