Some Notes on the Language in the Company Names

Aktiebolag, abbreviated A/B, is Swedish for 'Limited Company'/'Societé Anonyme'. The usual abbreviation nowadays is AB (in Finland it is usually abbreviated Ab).

Rederi means shipping company.

Ångfartyg (ångf.) means steam ship.

Editor's notes: I have disregarded of common words like these above, when sorting the company names in alphabetical order. In this I have also disregarded of first names in names that is clearly the personal name of the shipowner.

Å, Ä and Ö are the three last letters in the Swedish alphabet, and names are sorted accordingly.
