According to AFP (Agence France Presse), dispatch dated 22/09/00 18h34, the Regional Council of Ile-de-France changed its logo and flag.
The former red-white-blue flower, which had been created in 1976, has been abandoned, because it was only a geographical symbol of the departements, and not a symbol of a Region whose main aim is preparing the future. The new logo is a blue whirling spiral with an eight-pointed star, stnading for the 8 departments of the Region and Europe.
