Providence - Rhode Island's capital over 200 years of history brings you lot's of fun. Providence may be responsible for the "malling of America." Providence is truly a city ahead of its time. Rhode Island has more than earned its nickname, "The Crossroads of Southern New England."

Located a mere ten minutes from Providence, Warwick city. For starters, when you fly into Rhode Island, you actually fly into the heart of the City of Warwick. Warwick enjoys a reputation of being Rhode Island's "Retail Capital". There are very much to offer you here.

For the avid shoppers, America's first shopping mall, "The Arcade" ,was built here in 1828. Thus, there are many more shopping malls that serve your need here.

For a taste of off beaten track, Colt State Park, a 464 acre state park on the shore of Narragansett Bay, with four miles of hiking and biking trails, gardens, 10 playing fields and 6 picnic groves. Fishing, concerts and naturalist programs in season. This is just the right place for you.

If you enjoy a classic taste of farming, Coggeshall Farm Museum is ready to cater your needs. A 35 acre colonial farm, established in 1750. The museum features rare breeds of livestock, a barn, cooling house, blacksmith and spring house.

Getting There and Moving Around

By air

Green Airport in Warwick, just outside Providence, The airport is easily accessible from both Boston and Connecticut. More than 180 flights daily provide options or connections to and from virtually any destination.

By sea

Providence and Newport are the main harbours. Ferry services are available at the harbours to take you to the larger islands off the mainland.

By rail

Amtrak is the rail service that connects the New England states with each other and with other regions.

By road

RIPTA provides a bus service within the city and to the rest of the state. The Bonanza Bus has a daily service to and from Boston, Massachusetts. Buses leave Providence every hour on the half hour and leave Boston again every hour on the hour.

Long-distance bus services are run by various companies. Greyhound is the main service between all main cities. Taxis are normally called cabs in the US. Taxis are readily available.
