The 112 metres high Dom (cathedral) is the highest and
most famous tower in the Netherlands and the most visited
monument in the city. Every year, 75,000 people puff their
way up the 465 steps to enjoy the wonderful panorama 95
metres above the city bustle. This technical wonder acquired
fame and glory for Utrecht because it is one of only five
European church towers that exceed one hundred meters .
