The national park that lies right in the heart of Manila
has become the site of many events that shaped the country's
history.
Rizal Park which is at the peripheral of the Wall City,
is originally known as Bagumbayan and, later, Luneta. This
is where National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal was executed by
musketry during the Spanish regime. The park has many points
of interest including a Japanese garden, Chinese garden,
artist's sanctuary, a children's playground, stone statues
of dinosaurs and monsters. To commemorate history of the
park, a light show telling the graphic story of Rizal's
execution is staged every evening at 7:30 PM.
