Pagsanjan is a two-hour drive from Manila in the province
of Laguna. It is a quaint town typical of a Spanish settlement
in the Philippines. It is known mostly for its waterfalls
and lush green river that has come to be recognized as a
good location for filmmakers.
The river has rapids that add tremendous amounts of fun
to boat rides. Boatmen who've traversed the river for years
and know every detail make it easier for visitors by offering
rides in dugout canoes. Passengers just sit back and shoot
the rapids as the boatmen skillfully hop in and out of the
canoe to veer away from rocks and boulders strewn about
the river.
