Green Bean Pancake
It is a preferred food prepared with green bean flour, pickled cabbage, pork, green onion, red cayenne, fat of pork, beef, pepper, spiced soysauce. They are all mixed and fried. It prevents arteriosclerosis, effective in the nose and red spots after overdrinking, urination, neutralizing poison and heartstroke.

Sinsollo

Sinsollo
Originally sinsollo(chafing dish) was used to boil yolgujathang. Later it came to mean the food boiled in it.
Sinsollo is prepared with over 30 kinds of ingredients including pheasant meat, chicken, beef, the intestine of an ox, ox liver, ox tougue, pork, abalones, shrimps, sea slugs, scallions, parsley, bamboo shoots, bracken, pine mushrooms, broad bellflower, eggs, chestnuts, jujubes, gingko nuts and pine nuts.


Ttukbaegithang
Ttukbaegithang means a stew in a small earthern jar with a large mouth. Bean paste is put into the jar. It has a peculiar taste and is digestible.

Jongol

Jongol
Jonggol is an authentic Korean food prepared and boiled with beef in slices, vegetables, mushrooms and beancurds(tubu). It is tasty and nutritious.

Tholgye(Hairy Crab)

Tholgye(Hairy Crab)
As one of the specialities of the East Sea, it is caught in January and February, It is 700g to 800g in weight. The heaviest is 2kg in weight. It gives a mouth watering sensation.

Grilled Pine Mushroom

Grilled Pine Mushroom
Pine mushrooms grow in the Kumgang, Myohyang and Chilbo Mountains. The are aromatic and sweet.

Tongchimi

Tongchimi
It is one kind of kimchi. Less seasonings and no pickled fishes are put into tongchimi. It is full of juice. Cabbage and raddish tongchimi are normal.
In Pyongyang radish tongchimi is popular. From old times its juice has been served for cold noodles.
Tongchimi has an aromatic flavour.

Glutinous Rice Cake

Glutinous Rice Cake
It is a Korean's favourite food made by steamed and pounced glutinous rice. It is sticky, nutritiuos coated with powdered red bean, bean, sesame or honey.



Rajin Kelp(wrinkled Seaweed)
As a speciality of Rajin, it grows for one year to four years in the shallow sea ranging from 3cm to 20cm deep. It is usually two or three metres long, but the longest one grows five metres. The kelp grows well in the temperature from 1 ēC below zero to 10.5 ēC. The stem and leaf of the kelp are similar to Undaria pinnatifida.

Tolbulgogi

Tolbulgogi
Sliced beef is laid up spiced with pine mushrooms and onions. The spiced beef is put on a heated stone with the degrees of 250. Garlic is served with tulbulgogi.
The specific cooking of barbecue favours its taste.

Hoeryong white apricot

Hoeryong white apricot
This is a speciality of Hoeryong.Hoeryong has 1,200 hectares of white apricot orchard.It blooms at the end of April and ripens in mid July. While the harvest begins at the end of July.The light yellow apricot is less sour with aroma.The canned white apricot,syrup and wine are highly appreciated in foreign markets.
