At the centre of Iga, the birthplace of "Ninjas", exists
Ueno Castle, which was constructed in 1611 by Todo Takatora.
It is also known as Hakuko Castle. The stone moat wall on
the western flank, erected as a defense against attacks
from Osaka, is Japan's highest at 27m. At present, there
are spacious parks around Ueno Castle and a Ninja Museum
is located there as well.
