A large shrine in the Kumano mountains. These mountains
are also known as Kumano Sanzan, literally "Three mountains
of Kumano", which represents 3 major Shinto shrines of Kumano-Hongu,
Kumano-Hayatama and Kumano-Nachi. These mountains were the
goal of many a pilgrim, and is sybolized by the "Pilgrimage
of Ants to Kumano". This shrine is also now the headquarters
of Kumano Shrines throughtout Japan.
