Yagyu Village is also nicknamed as "The Home of the Master
Swordsmen" as it produced several famous master swordsmen
active during the 17th century. Although Yagyu appears to
be a typical mountain village, there are various historical
sights which are worth seeing. There is an exhibit of Yagyu
clan memorabilia, The Yagyu Encampent where swordsmen underwent
training, and the Ittoseki (One-Stroke-Rock).
Ittoseki rock is a huge rock that has a cleft n the middle
that caused it to split in two. Yagyu Sekishusai is said
to have caused the split after he stroke a long-nosed goblin
called Tengu with just one strike during a match.
