Association of Trade Unions (Savez sindikata)

[Association of Trade Unions]by Zeljko Heimer

Red flag with golden emblem of the Association, a pentagon with a cog wheel, wheat sheaves, hammer, sickle and a torch. The cog wheel and hammer represent workers, wheat and sickle peasants and the torch intellectuals and education. The torch also connects the emblem with the arms of Yugoslavia (six torches!) and with revolution (as the red colour suggests, too). The pentagram shall recall the five-pointed star of the national flag.

Civil Defense (Civilna zastita)

[Civil Defense]by Zeljko Heimer

Blue flag with the emblem of the Civil Defense, blue triangle inscribed in an orange disc, a five pointed red star in the middle (note that the star was not outlined in yellow as it was usual for Yugoslav flags). The orange and blue triangle is the internationally accepted symbol of this organization.

This flag is no longer in use and was replaced by the new flag of Civil Defense, simple orange flag with the same blue triangle, this time without the star.
