Description of the flag

Belgrade municipality of Stari Grad ("Old Town") adopted a coat of arms and flag designed by Serbian Heraldry Society.

The flag is based on the first known coat of arms of Belgrade, dating from XIII-XIVth century. Stari Grad is the the oldest part of Belgrade city

The coat of arms can be blazoned as:

Per fess, Gules a tower Argent windowed and lined Sable, on each side on a stone Argent a double cross barred Or; barry of six Argent and Gules.
