Overview

From http://uh.ms.km.ua/Time1/zakarp/uzghorod/endex1.html:
For the first time it was mentioned in Hungarian chronicles of the XII century as a settlement in a Carpathians lowland under the name of Ungvar (from Old Bulgarian word "fast"). In 1635 it was given a seal with a picture of a vine with bunches of grapes. The document of giving the Magdeburg Right is not found.
