The Flag

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"It was confirmed at December, 28th, 2001. It is rectangular panel consisting of three vertical strips - white, red and white in the ratio 1:4:1; at the centre of a panel is the white fortress with church, crowned by a yellow dome with a cross, and two low lateral towers with yellow roofs with windvanes; the right tower grows behind of fortress shaft, the left tower grows from a gear wall facing church and fortress shaft; on the closed gate is the triangular red board with yellow prince sign. Fortress height equals to 2/3 heights of a panel. A ratio of the parties of a panel is 2:3. Two vertical white strips symbolize main region rivers - Dnipro and its inflow Trubizh. The author is O.Kohan."

"It was confirmed at December, 28th, 2001. It is a square white panel. In the centre of it is region emblem with height in 4/5 parties of a panel. Gonfalon has yellow edging from three sides. The author is O.Kohan."

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"It was confirmed at December, 28th, 2001. In a gules field is argent fortress with church above gate, crowned by an or dome with a cross, and two low lateral towers with or roofs with windvanes; the right tower grows behind of fortress shaft, the left tower grows from a gear wall facing church and fortress shaft; on the closed gate is a gules triangular board with prince or sign. A board crowned by argent viburnum flower and framed by the or wreath from branches of a pine, alder, oak and linden. The author is O.Kohan. The fortress symbolizes principality as a military post of Kyivs'ka Rus'. The symbol means historical Bishop's gate and Fedorivs'ka church. Gules is shield's colour of prince warriors. Wreath symbolizes region vegetation. Argent flower means the Kyivs'ka oblast'."

The Region

"In 1054 on this land existed Pereiaslavs'ke principality with Yaroslav Mydryi prince. It was border with Polovets'ka land. The centre city Pereiyaslav is mentioned in the 906 year annals. From 1648 it was center of Pereiaslavs'kyi Cossack's regiment."
