Svitlovods'k conducts the history from Kryliv's ancient city which has received the Magdebourg right in XVII century. Historical sources testify, that the old arms of city of Kryliv represented images of three carbines. By the privilege of Stanislav-August king from March, 30, 1792, Kryliv city rights proved to be true, and as variant of the arms where three are fusils. As from XVII century beginning fusils did not exist, in city arm were submitted the muskets, as more corresponding by times of the first arms of Kryliv. The barrulets display the artificial sea near the city. The emblem adorned by decorative cartouche, crowned by argent mauerkrone with three towers."
