Moldavian ASSR, 1925-1929

Moldova ASSR, created 12 October 1924 in the Ukrainian zone of Balta. The flag was adopted probably in 1925. Was in use until 1929 when the hammer and sickle disappear. "RSSU" was suppressed near 1935, and the hammer and sickle was added (above of YPCP) in 1937.

Red with in the upper hoist curved yellow cyrillic initials (RSSM) in serif. Yellow hammer and sickle below.

This flag was introduced by Constitution of 1941, article 123. The official text of Constitution regulated neither the typeface of the letters nor the curved form of the inscription.
