The name of the village: Mala Frankova, Frankova, Veľke Frankova - depending of the map, atlas or website one views. From 1593 till 1648 Malá Franková was known as Frankowka, 1715 KIS Frankvágása, 1773 Frankovka, Kis-frankova, Klein-Franck, 1808 Klein - Frankowa, 1863-1888 Kis frankova, 1892-1918 Kisfrankovagás and Kisfrankvágása, 1920-1978 Malá Franková, 1979-1999 both Veľká and Malá Franková existed. (just a small example of placename-changes in Slovakia). It is in the High Tatra, in Kežmarok district.
