The municipality of Zirovnica was formed in 1998.

Description of the flag

The flag and arms of Zirovnica are prescribed by decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Obcine Zirovnica, adopted on 31 January 2000, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 17/2000.

The flag is rectangular in ratio 1:2, green with the five yellow feathers from the coat of arms.

The root of the word "acorns" (ziri) is clearly visible, but it sems that there are no acorns in symbols used by this municipality either. The shieldlike emblem that may be the coat of arms of Zirovnica is shown on the municipal website It is green, bordered in yellow with the chief edge forming an open book, with five yellow feathers 3 and 2.
