Description of the flag

The flag of Sempeter-Vrtojba is prescribed by decision Odlok o grbu, zastavi in zigu Obcine Sempeter-Vrtojba, adopted in 1999.

The flag is vertically divided blue-green, the blue stripe containing the sun emblem from the coat of arms.

The flag is similar to Podcetrtek flag. To summarize the discussion on the forum of the municipal website, the similarity seems to be nothing more than a coincidence. A contest produced up several designs among which two were elected for further consideration and finally the adopted version was agreed upon.
