Description of the flag

The flag and arms of Ribnica na Pohorju are prescribed by decision Odlok o istovetnostnih simbolih obcine Ribnica na Pohorju, adopted on 15 February 2001 and published in the official local gazette Medobcinski uradni vestnik, 5/2001.

The symbols were designed by Valt Jurecic of Heraldika d.o.o. and Heraldica Slovenica, who kindly provided drawings from which the images shown on this page were made.

The flag is horizontal in ratio 2:5, green with two white vertical stripes forming a square field which contains the crowned fish from the coat of arms .

Coat of arms

The coat of arms of Ribnica na Pohorju pictures in a silver shield a green hill from which rises a juniper tree with a red trunk, in base there is a blue pool from which is jumping a crowned golden fish. The hill stands for the Pohorje region; the juniper tree represents one of the largest juniper trees in Slovenia, found in the municipality; and the crowned fish, canting for the name of the municipality, represents the equity of the people.
