Presentation of the municipality

The municipality of Dolenjske Toplice was formed in 1998 by secession from Novo mesto. Toplice means spa, and Dolenjska is the "Lower Slovenia" region.

Description of the flag

The flag and arms are mentioned in the municipal statutes Statut Obcine Dolenjske Toplice, adopted on 7 April 1999, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 47/1999, and are prescribed by decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Obcine Dolenjske Toplice, adopted on 29 March 2001, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 28/2001.

The flag is rectangular in ratio 2:5, horizontally divided in two unequal fields (in proportion 1:2), light blue and light green. The coat of arms bordered with gold is set near the hoist. There exists both horizontal and vertical versions, which differ by the position of the coat of arms.

The coat of arms is ia shield in a semicircular shape, with charges symbolizing woods and thermal waters, a disk for broadleaf woods, a triangle for evergreen woods and five drops for the thermal spas.
