Zeljko Heimer, 10 April 2000
The coat of arms and flag are prescribed by decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Obcine Zrece, adopted on14 September 1995. signed 28 September 1995, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, nr. 57, 6 October 1995, pp. 4644-6, with effect on 20 October 1995.
The flag is derived from the coat of arms. It is rectangular in ratio 2:1, and shall always be hoisted vertically. It is vertically divided green-yellow with the coat of arms in the middle fimbriated yellow in part entering the green field. The width of the coat of arms on the flag should be 2/3 of the flag width (hoist).

The coat of arms of Zrece is shown on several web pages among
which one can mention the official
Zrece website.
The coat of arms could be blazoned as:
Or bordered vert in base of a heart of the second bars gemel wavy of the first.
That is, of course, not how it is described in the decision -
description in "normal" language is used. The coat of arms is the
visual representation of the municipal motto: "Zrece, the green heart
under the Pohorje", Pohorje being the nearby mountains.
The decision includes a very detailed construction sheet of the coat
of arms and the flag, that provides all needed for a precise drawing.
The colours are determined by RAL Bonn 1990 scale: golden-yellow RAL
1023 and green RAL 6029.
