Description of the flag

The flag is rectangular in ratio 2:5, horizontally divided green-yellow-green with a yellow square at hoist containing the attribute from the coat of arms, the curlew (Numenius arquata).

The curlew is typical of the marshy regions that surrounds Ljubljana, and common in marshy areas throughout Europe.
