Description of the flag

The coat of arms and the flag of Sentjernej are prescribed by decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Obcine Sentjernej, adopted on 15 July1996, and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, nr. 40, 27 July1996, pp. 3536-8.

The new municipal statutes Statut Obcine Sentjernej, adopted on 14 December 2000 and published in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 4/2001, include the blazon of the coat of arms and the description of the flag, thus confirming the aforementioned decision.

The symbols were designed by Valt Jurecic of Heraldika d.o.o. and Heraldica Slovenica, who kindly provided drawings from which the images shown on this page were made.

The flag is based on the coat of arms. It is rectangular in ratio 2:5, vertically divided in three yellow-green-yellow stripes with the rooster from the coat of arms in the middle. The vertical stripes are of equal size, and the rooster is prescribed to be not bigger then 8/10 and not less the 2/3 of the hoist size.

However, the decision as published in the official gazette prescribes that the three flag fields should be of equal width, and therefore the middle one is not square, and that there is only the horizontal version of the flag.
