Presentation of the municipality

The municipality of Sentilj was formed in 1995. It is named after its patron saint Elias, Ilija. In Sentilj is one of the largest, if not the largest, border-crossings to Slovenia.

Description of the flag

The flag and arms of Sentilj are prescribed by decision Odlok o grbu in zastavi Obcine Sentilj, adopted in 1996 and published in the official local gazette Medobcinski uradni list Stajerske in Koroske regije, 5/1996.

The symbols were designed by Valt Jurecic of Heraldika d.o.o. and Heraldica Slovenica, who kindly provided drawings from which the images shown on this page were made.

The flag is horizontal in ratio 2:5, green with a thin yellow line delimiting a green square field at hoist that contains the triple cross from the coat of arms.
