The municipality of Krsko is located in the lower valley of Sava river at almost the point where Sava enters Croatia. Krsko is probably most known for the nuclear power plant build there, which is the only one in former Yugoslavia, and presumably the energy mentioned below on should refer to it.

The flag and arms are prescibed by the following decisions:
The flag is rectangular in ratio 1:2, green with the emblem in the middle. Details of the size and position of the emblem are not given in the Statutes, but are left for a further decision. Such a decision seems not to have been adopted yet, therefore but the 1981 and subsequent regulations should be followed.
The emblem is picturing the river Sava flowing from the hilly region into the ravines of Krsko fields. It also represents energy. Below the emblem, as a part of it, is written the name of the municipality.

The coat of arms can be blazoned as follows:
Azure, on a mount vert St. John the Evangelist stantant clead gules holding in his sinister a cup or from wich are issuing three snakes, in sinister a city with towers masoned argent and roofed gules.
According to the aforementioned decision, the coat of arms shall be used only on certain documents released by the municipality, and on awards issued by the local unit Krsko (a subdivision of the municipality). The decision prescribes that in all other cases when presentation of the municipality should be made, one should use the emblem of the municipality.
