Overview

The municipality of Miercurea-Ciuc is situated in the Eastern part of Transylvania, in the central zone of the Ciucurilor Depression being rounded by the volcanical mountain range of the Harghita and Ciuc Mountains at the crossing of the roads which pass through the Carpathian Passes of Vlăhiţa (Tolvajos) and Ghimes. The municipality is situated on the terraces of the Olt River, at the foot of the Sumuleu Mare Mountain (1033 m above sea level). The altitude of the town is between 655 and 730 m above sea level. Geographical coordinates: lat.: 46° 21' N, long.: 25° 48' E.
