Overview

Yabucoa - The flag has an abstract design inspired in the city shield with its symbolic colors. The flag is quartered in asps: 1st and 4th violet, and 2nd and 3rd white, respectively embraced in green, with the alteration that these latter triangles instead of being equal to the two thirds parts of the quarters latitude in which they are inscribed, are equal to the fifth part of the flag horizontal dimension.

Wrong Reported Flag

by Thanh-Tâm Le, 13 January 1999

Divided in saltire, top and bottom purple, fly and hoist white; two green triangles starting from hoist and fly, as wide as the hoist and as long as 1/5th of the fly

Here is what I understood from Santiago's interpretation of the Yabucoa flag. I do not know which one is right. Usually, textes seem to be more reliable than images on this Lexjuris site, but in this very case the description is "a bit" confusing. Besides, the image in the top of the page probably looks better than this.
