Description

The background is divided into black (for the national flag) and green (for vegetation) triangles. At the centre is a yellow, black and white dendrobium engae orchid (the provincial flower). Source: PNG: A fact book on modern Papua New Guinea, Jackson Rannells, Oxford University Press (Melbourne), 1990.

David Cohen, 31 July 1999

A very minor point according to the cover of Rannells' book. The heart of the orchid is alternately black/white/black etc. instead of white with black outline.

David Cohen, 1 August 1999

My source:

Fleur d'orchidee á pétales centrales blanche, marques noires. 3 pétales exerieures jaunes á marque blanches. Les 2 outres blanches.
I think this says the leaves in the centre are white with black marks.
