General flag days

New Years Day, 1 January
Birthday of the King [Harald V], 21 Feruary
Easter Day
First of May, 1 May [Labour Day]
Liberation Day 1945, 8 May
Norway's National Day, 17 May
Whit Sunday
Day of end of union with Sweden 1905, 7 June
Birthday of the Queen [Sonja], 4 July
Birthday of the Crown Prince [Haakon], 20 July
Olsok, St. Olav's Day, 29 July [St. Olav is the patron saint of Norway]
Birthday of the Crown Princess [Mette-Marit], 19 August
Birthday of Princess Märtha Louise, 22 September
Christmas Day, 25 December

Except these days, flag should be hoisted:
- on electiondays for the parliament elections,
- when government determines that it flag be hoisted; that happens most often in case of "other" celebrative days and ocasions in the country or when we have an official visit of a foreign head of state.
