Municipal flag

Winsum is c. 20 km north of Groningen city. Not to be confused with Winsum in Friesland. It is an agricultural municipality. Winsum village has an old medieval church with hollow and round pan-tiles, known locally as 'nuns and monks'. The municipalities of Adorp, Baflo and Ezinge were added in 1990.

The flag contains elements derived from the CoAs of the 4 merged municipalities.
