The yellow crescent and star of the Selangor flag was changed to white 30 January 1965 according to Whitney Smith.
Jaume Ollé, 23 September 1997
According to Flaggenbuch 1939, the former flag had indeed a yellow crescent and star, also the crescent was thinner and the star much smaller. It was also (and is still?) used by the Sultan. Dorling-Kindersley 1997 shows an erroneous [current] flag with yellow crescent and star.
