I seem to recall that Flaggenbuch 1939 shows all of these with the same line acting simultaneously as symmetry axis of both the crescent and the star.

Flaggenbuch 1939 shows the Flag of the Regent of Johore as a yellow-blue per bend divided flag with a red crescent and a red 8-pointed [sic] star.

Flaggenbuch 1939 shows the flag of the State Commissioner for Batu Pahat as a red-black per bend divided flag with a white crescent and a white 5-pointed star. Note the tilting of the star is different from the tilting of the 5-pointed stars in other Johore flags.
